Are you someone who is exploring kink or acknowledging a kink for the first time in your life?
Are you in a relationship where you’d like to be able to explore kink in a healthy way with a partner? Are you struggling to feel comfortable with your own kink or fantasies? Are you looking for safe space to talk about your lifestyle?
At Alkira, our therapists are dedicated to providing a safe space for you and your partner/s to discuss and explore your sexuality in a way that is not shaming or pathologizing. Our therapists seek training and supervision to be Kink Aware. We understand that kink can intersect with many different identities and can present in many ways. We believe that consent and safety is the cornerstone to any healthy sexual relationship, and we want to help our clients explore their kinks and relationships in a way that honors that.
It can be difficult to feel comfortable discussing kinks, especially with a therapist with whom you are not sure of their beliefs around sexuality. Our therapists are accepting, non-judgmental and know that having a kink does NOT equal a mental health diagnosis and does not necessarily indicate trauma in a person’s life.
I’m afraid I’ll ask for help and still feel embarrassed and rejected.
At Alkira Therapy we accept you for all that you are from the very beginning. Every person you interact with at Alkira Therapy is respectful and values your privacy.
I know there are people I can talk to, but how do I actually take that step?
Break it down into just one step. Email or call to speak with our intake coordinator, who is also a therapist. Our intake coordinator will be with you for each step of scheduling until you are ready for your appointment. You will be guided to the specific therapists at Alkira who have training and experience with kink and sex therapy issues. We are committed to providing compassionate, accessible counseling. If you are interested in learning more about counseling at Alkira or to schedule an appointment, we are available at 315 492-1390 or alkiraintake@gmail.com.
I’m worried other people will find out I’m seeking counseling before I’m ready for them to know.
At Alkira, we are committed to making sure your participation and story are completely confidential. We offer HIPAA compliant virtual platforms that allow you to do therapy from the privacy of your home. Additionally, our offices are located in a larger, occupied office building, providing you anonymity from even chance run-ins with people you know.
